dammittumblr asked: Hello! I recently read Brosis Nishioka's "Kami no Kodomo" and somehow remembered that you were a fan of them. It was my first time reading anything by them and I really enjoyed it; the art was amazing and I think it helped make even more of an impact than with a realistic style (even though the story was strong as well). I want to know what are your feelings about it, if you have any? Is there any definite work of theirs that I should read next? I hope you have a nice night :>

I LOVE KAMI NO KODOMO!! I Think Brosis Nishioka’s works are an entirely different breed of manga and just strays from the traditional storytelling techniques. And the art has just appealed to me so much it’s been a big influence.

I think their use of a more childlike/naive/dreamlike art style is very clever since it matches the tone of their stories and the attitude of the characters who’s realities are different from everyone around them. What I especially love about Kami no Kodomo is that there’s only a slight difference in his eyes among all his classmates- but otherwise blends in well enough. Another thing I really love is how their comics are strictly in first person, and we get the feel of what the protag thinks and what he thinks of another character, what he thinks of the situation etc. 

You should take a look at “Sadness of the Heart” (a series of short stories) and “Journey to the End of the World” (If i remember right, its about a man unsatisfied with his life, travels, and ends up in a island that practices cannibalism). They have some other works that unfortunately aren’t scanlated and I wouldn’t know where to find them..; n ;

I’m glad you asked me but I have a lot of feelings about their works and it took me awhile to even get the words right ahhhhhhhhh…. Just.. really gorgeous work. 

Publishing because I think people have to read this gem… well if you can stomach it I guess.

This is for every artist out there that has to put up with this shit. This isn’t my first time receiving a comment like this and I know I can’t take this personally, but you’re basically asking me to do a job for FREE. I know I’m being more than fair with my art because I put a lot of myself and my time into this. I’m making this as affordable as I can because I’d like for people who want my art to be able to afford it and at the same time not cheat myself. Keep in mind that I’m trying to get through a personal hardship here, so I’m not going to work for dirt. I can tell you’re an artist too and you’ve got to remember that we are not tools. Being another artist on the internet does not mean I have to devalue myself and my work, and I don’t think any other artist out there ever should. I just want people to know that we have feelings too and we’re not made of stone. We’re going to take offense when someone leaves a comment like this one, so think before you make these kinds of remarks.

Now please just sit down for a minute and rethink your life holy fuck.

Would you buy a commission from me? Like a 15$ kawaii portrait? I’m having personal hardships again (school seriously sucked up all the savings I have). I know commissions won’t save me, but I’d like to help pay the bills even if just a little. Please give me an honest yes or no!

Trying to style imitate Linda again. @_@ Before I wasn’t allowed to pick out her daily kawaii style but now that I can… I did. Sorta.

I never told you this Linda, but I really admire your ability to pull off colors, I think you’re the bravest person I know for using color combos people like me are too afraid to use. *-*

I still have a few more style imitations to go, but I really want to get Linda’s right hahah;; cause she ma cousin and I know she won’t mind that I keep trying. I… THINK…

I think you’ve made kawaii quite well, little one. And I dunno if its just me, but the colors look like…. i dunno dawn, night, and sunrise/set?? all the hours that i m awake?? i know its not me in that drawin but you’ve got the essence of my spirit in there. LOL thank you michelle for drawing me fanart :)
